Charles Dutoit steps down at Verbier

Last night was the Swiss conductor’s final appearance as music director of the Verbier Festival Orchestra.

He succeeded James Levine in 2009 and has now accepted the title of Conductor Emeritus.

    His last concert was magnificent in spite of the rain here in Verbier. He conducted Salome in a concert version.Just superb.

    I’m observing from far away, but hope they will consider Gábor Takács-Nagy, a superb conductor and musician.
