Dutchman finds missing Handel cantata
mainThe indefatigable Ton Koopman claims to have discovered ‘a previously unknown cantata by Georg Frideric Handel for soprano and instrumental ensemble.’ It’s an unknown variant on ”Tu fedel? Tu costante?’, HWV 171.
Premiere in Amsterdam on April 9.
He also added wind parts and a slow movement to the Brandenburg 3, so why not “discover” some Händel as well…
‘No, ‘he’ ( Mr Koopman) didn’t add wind parts to Brandenburg 3, those oboe and horn parts were ‘added’ ( composed) by J.S. Bach himself in his Cantata 174.
Can’t you find a more dignified photo ?
Goosed by Bach.
