Extraordinary story. But there is no sign of some ‘attention deficit’ as stated in the report, in contrary: clearly, music gave this man focus and organisational skills to combine crime with music. You could even say that music inspired him to rob banks, like Wagner’s Wallkürenritt inspired soldiers in WW One to go into battle.
Does music – serious, classical music – have a moral imperiative? I think it has, but that is not always understood by some type of music lovers. One thinks of Putin, Hitler, Stalin, Nero, and less dangerous: the banker Alberto Vilar who cheated on his clients to be able to sponsor opera.
