Politics came first.

methinks Puccini will do just fine, lol, maybe one or two less productions of Butterfly or Boheme in the world might actually be healthy for the opera scene!

  • zandonai says:

why can’t we have a Meyerbeer festival or a Vivaldi Opera Festival instead of Puccini?

  • AD says:

As per La Scala’ recital…it was a general strike.

What’s the point of a ‘general strike if people (including both La Scala and the Maggio Fiorentino employers- not just the otchestra) don’t participate in it?

It’s not just ‘politics’. There is much more at stake in Italy, at the moment.
