Berlin Phil’s next cellist is a comedy act from Liechtenstein
OrchestrasThe cello audition on Friday was won by Moritz Huemer, from one of Europe’s smallest sovereign states.
Huemer, 25, came through the Karajan Academy of the Berlin Philharmonic. His former Instagram comedy account – moritz_cello – caught the eye of some of the Berlin players, who contacted him to apply for audition. He will join the orchestra for a trial period in May.
