A job in Kyiv for Mrs Gelb
OrchestrasThe Canadian pro-Ukraine activist Keri-Lynn Wilson has been rewarded with the leadership of a Kyiv orchestra. Wilson is married to the Metropolitan Opera general manager Peter Gelb.

NEW YORK (AP) — Keri-Lynn Wilson was hired Monday as music director of the Kyiv Camerata.
She succeeds Valery Matyukhin, who established the chamber orchestra in 1977 and died last year.
“We shall be performing for Ukraine’s brave and discerning audiences and defending Ukraine’s cultural identify from those who wish to deny it,” Wilson said in a statement.
Mrs Gelb? Seriously? Surely her achievements merit her own name being used in the headline.
Keri-Lynn Wilson is a successful artist in her own right so why identify her in the title as Mrs. Gelb?
And on top of that, an accomplished conductor, far more than an “activist”.
She’s married Gelb and also part Ukrainian.
We all make mistakes.
That’s why Gelb hates Netrebko so much! Thanks, I got it.
So one assumes this marks the end of her career in Russia, where she was conducting quite regularly.
Putin will not last forever.
I am sure he believes he will. Thankfully at some point he will be proved wrong, the sooner the better.
Can we now pray that he goes with her? He literally will not be missed by anyone and it will give the Metropolitan Opera the opportunity to become healthy again.
Well…this certainly sheds some light on the vilification of Netrebko by her woke husband…
