Conservatoire chief sings his way into the job
NewsAlexander Brose was confirmed yesterday, after a probationary year, as President and CEO of the Royal Conservatory of Music in Toronto. He greeted the appointment by issuing a video of himself singing ‘A Nightingale Sang in Berkeley Square’.

Any reason why he chose that song? Why not “O, Canada?”
I hope RCM’s voice department is keeping their ears plugged
Whether Brose is a good choice or not will reveal itself over the next few years.
The Royal Conservatory has been doing excellently, though. As of a few years ago, the Glenn Gould School is now tuition-free, joining the likes of Colburn and Curtis.
