The flamboyant Richard LLugner who drew tabloid attention to the fusty Vienna Opera Ball by paying millions to Kardashian-type celebs to turn out as his date, has pranced his final waltz.

A construction billionaire, Lugner married six times, lastly in June to a glamour model.

Austrian chancellor Karl Nehammer tweeted: ‘Richard Lugner was a successful entrepreneur and a dazzling personality. An Austrian original who never lost his way.’

  • Jonathan Sutherland says:

    Alors, adieu Monsieur Lugner.
At least no more Bunga- Bunga babes and brain-dead, silicone-stretched soi-disant “celebrities” clutching the mortar magnate’s scrawny brachial region will blight the steps of das Haus am Ring at future Opernbälle.
One hopes the formidable Christa, Gräfin Schönfeldt can also finally requiescat in pace.

    • Petros Linardos says:

My money is on any interested “celebrities” finding their way to the Opernball. Does it matter?

  • John Borstlap says:

    Women are dangerous.

  • zandonai says:

    A very merry widow indeed.

  • Save the MET says:

If you look at the typical Viennese who are elegant, but understated and have an air of sophistication, this man was anything but. He paid Kim Kardashian $500,000 to attend the opera ball with him and she wouldn’t give him a dance.
