Orch moves: Montreal has new boss
OrchestrasThe Orchestre symphonique de Montréal has chosen Mélanie La Couture as its next chief executive officer. She succeeds Madeleine Careau, who retires next month after nearly 25 years at the helm.
La Couture has history with the OSM as its chief operating officer from 2007 to 2013.
If I were in the orchestra management field, this is the job I would want. Great orchestra, wonderful city. Though the provincial politics might be an annoyance; I suspect you really need someone from Quebec in that job. Congrats to her, in any case. I wish much continued success to the extraordinary OSM!
