Netrebko still draws protestors
OperaA peaceful crowd gathered outside the Hesse State Theatre in Wiesbaden on Saturday evening to protest a recital by the ex-pro-Putin soprano Anna Netrebko.
A police spokesman put the numbers at 400. The singer’s agent said it was far fewer.
Good of these people to do the ethical thing against that Putin-Gergiev-enabled opportunist, now also with a vocal apparatus in ruins.
Wow, I can’t believe this. I said this earlier, but what about her First Amendment right to him and express her opinions without these kinds of repercussions? We’ve lost so much freedom.
If you’d bothered to read the story, you would see that this protest took place in Wiesbaden, Germany – no “First Amendment” there, that is a U.S. thing
Wrong. It’s an “inalienable right.” Read the documents.
Cheers.
G.
Incorrect. It is only legally in force in the U.S.
What/Which documents? Send us a kink please.
Send you a “kink”? Sir, I believe you think you are on some sort of escort site?
Wrong. It’s clearly called an “inalienable” write in the documents. Location makes no difference.
And here is why the world hates Americans. Blubbering nonsense.
She’s not an American, therefore the first amendment does not apply, though if she’s physically in America it does. In this case she’s not in the US, therefore it does not apply.
I don’t know whether the “First Amendment right” extends to other nations than the US in the same way. However, there is no constitutional protection from “repercussions” to your statements…………….
Actually, that is the whole point. Freedom ofp speech is the ability to say whatever you want with no repercussions. In any case, I wish her well. She still has a lovely legato.
Cheers
G.
While freedom of speech is very broad in the US, there are guardrails.

At least these knuckleheads are peaceful and not camping and rioting inside the Theatre like the American college hooligans.
Please remember:
1. She is a private citizen, and an Austrian one to boot.
2. Germany is not officially at war with Russia.
And still incapable of speaking German.
German media reported that police officials issued a correction. A crowd of150 before the opera had grown to 250 after the opera. The total was not 400.
“ex” pro-Putin means she’s now anti-Putin. So what’s their problem?
The obvious convenience of Ms Netrebko’s convictions.
Enough already. You leftists need a new hobby.
Unfortunately many Ukrainians formed the most cruel guards in the Nazi Concentration and extermination Camps and helped the Germans voluntarily with the slaughter ofJews in the so-called Holocaust by bullets. That’s the reason I still haven’t taken sides yet
I completely forgot about the whole Ukraine thing with everything else going on this year in the US lol
