Kumi Ogano was one of my closest, lifelong friends, a woman of staunch determination, individuality, and artistic commitment. She was an absolutely stunning pianist, and er recordings of Miyoshi and Takemitsu will be benchmarks always for musicians learning those works. RIP dear Kumi, and brava on a life in music, well lived, well served.
