The former director of music at St Peter’s Cathedral in west Belfast has been given three years probation after pleading guilty to a count of sexual communication with a child who had learning difficulties.

Nigel McClintock, 51, had stepped down from St Peter’s before the offence was committed.

    In case anyone gets confused, this is the Catholic cathedral this time, and got nothing to do with the Church of England or the Church of Ireland. One just gets sick and tired of hearing of these shocking cases of child abuse.

      Yes, although McClintock also held director posts at Croydon Parish Church (Church of England) and St George’s Parish Church in Belfast (Church of Ireland)
