Soprano resumes her search for the perfect agent
OperaThe South African soprano Pumeza Matshikiza has just signed on with Veronika Arkhangel’s Berlin-based boutique, Arcadia Artists.
Pumeza, 44, was previously with Piper arts management of Hartford Connecticut and, before that, with Centre Stage Management and Intermusica.
Still searching, then.
She has a recording contract with Decca.
That agency is based in Vienna, I think. What I don’t understand is does Arkhangel even want to sign anyone, let alone anyone with future promise? She’s got the odious hack Eyvasov and now Matshikiza who sings once a year. And her website has said coming soon for the better part of two years. Perhaps she can reverse their fortunes, but I don’t really see that happening for either (certainly Mr. Eyvasov has received far more than he deserves).
Would be interesting to see the ones they censored.
Do two (possibly…) artists over a two-year period an agency make? There is something suspect about Ms. Arkangel’s assertions and resume.

Wow, one didn’t think a singer could slide lower in the totem poll than Piper. But with each change, her management has got worse. Now hitting rock bottom.
