I remember seeing Pavarotti arrive at the Salzburg Festspielhaus with a Maseratti Quattro Porte, just in time for his Idomeneo. I was at the sidewalk, holding a “Suche Karte” sign. I got lucky! August 1993.

Yes, of course. Typo… Whew, time flies.
He picked me up in a M-B in 1990 or so from a grass landing strip in Bolzano and drove to Merano yelling out the window and ignoring signals all the way. Longest 30 minutes of my young life, but we made it, apparently.
What a sight it must have been to watch him get out of a car like that!
