UncategorizedTributes are coming through for Jane Bonner, long-standing company manager of Opera North, reeady to turn her hand to any task, including page-turning.
She was an absolute mainstay, and immensely popular.

Shame you couldn’t find a better photo of Jane, one without Martin Pickard in it (as fine a gentleman as he is) and not in profile. She was a legend. A wonderful person with a sparkle in her eye and a fabulously dry sense of humour.
Jane Bonner was always wonderfully calm and a very kind friend to me: a fine person indeed.
I remember one week several years ago during an Opera North residency at the Theatre Royal Nottingham when a virus must have been rife and she had to come onstage a number of times before the performance to announce a cast change. After a few days of this, she came on one night and began: “Sorry, it’s me again. . . ” , made her announcement and got a great round of applause.
She was a really kind woman and will be missed greatly by everyone who had the pleasure of knowing her.
