Singers making a big move
UncategorizedThe New Zealand opera tenor Simon O’Neill has given up on AskonasHolt after two decades and moved to Michael Lewin’s little powerhouse in Vienna. He has just recorded Siegfried with Simon Rattle in Munich.
The Met’s Nicaraguan soprano Gabriella Reyes has also quit Askonas, in her case for Callan Coughlan at Promethean Artists.
The Canadian soprano Jane Archibald has dumped IMG Artists for Intermusica in London.
The Met mezzo J’nai Bridges (pictured) has consigned her European career to HarrisonParrott.
It’s all go before the season starts.
Gosh! How interesting!
Not surprised about Simon as he gave up on marital fidelity more than 20 yrs ago, and sacrificed vocal fidelity more than 30 yrs ago.
Wow. I wonder what the source of your bitterness is.
there’s a difference between talking sh*tty about a person and talking truth about a sh*tty person. I’m not bitter. I’m just sharing truth and fact. With a smile. He gave up his management, and I’m adding he gave up a lot of things over the years. If you don’t like it, just keep scrolling.
An heroic Mime as Siegfried is apparently the best on offer these days.
What a lot of bitter horrible comments about this helden tenor who’s a hell of a good guy and an absolutely stupendous singer. I’ve stood next to him on stage during Tosca and when he unleashed his Vittorias my ear drums nearly bust. If you don’t like his voice then that’s subjective. Objectively he’s an absolute powerhouse of stentorian ringing sound. Show me a better Florestan in the world today. There isn’t one.
