The port town of Geelong, 65 km southwest of Melbourne, opened an impressive new arts centre today.

It cost $140 million (US$90m) in public money and looks fit for purpose.

    Not a concert hall! Geelong already has excellent Costa Hall, close by, where Melbourne Symphony plays a subscription season.
