OrchestrasThe next Generalmusikdirector of the Heidelberg Philharmonic Orchestra will be Mino Marani, 37.
He is presently Kapellmeister at Staatstheater Braunschweig.
Heidelberg sifted him from 120 candidates.

He seems to be following the fine tradition of beginning in the provinces, progressing from Kapellmeister in a small opera house to music director at a small orchestra. Hope his career continues to progress along the path trod by so many greats.
120 is not that many in the conductor world – we sifted through over 200 for an assistant conductor job of a major US orchestra.

Can you imagine what Ulm was like back in 1929? Or Aachen? Well, Aachen was for instance were Fritz Busch, Herbert von Karajan and Wolfgang Sawallisch started their careers. That’s right, that’s where they learned their job and trimmed their skills.
The very opposite of today’s mediatecally supported monkey’s, who at age 23 or “preferably,” less perform their monkey Podium Aerobics, learned in front of a mirror, while getting a free ride from a top orchestra, in order to impress poor deaf people like you, and let power horny agencies cash in.
