Way cool
Somewhat obtuse from Toulouse.
Wonderful!
The repertoire selections for the season are old-fashioned as well.
… Not that there’s anything wrong with that …
Well, no, there’s nothing new or even nearly new, but a season with Boris Godunov, Il ritorno d’Ulisse in patria, Die Frau ohne Schatten (!), Idomeneo, La Cenerentola, Pelleas et Melisande, and Eugene Onegin is hardly weighed in favor of the stale or standard. If anything, it’s rather ambitious for a provincial opera house.
Bored after 2 minutes. And what a stale season moving opera backwards and not forwards. Pandering to the elderly yet again, who won’t be there to buy tickets in ten years. Yawn. Next.
