In Paris, the famed Schola Cantorum is ruptured by gas explosion
NewsThe school founded by Vincent d’Indy in rue Saint Jacques has cancelled its next concerts in the wake of this week’s devastation gas blast, which destroyed and destabilised many buildings in the fifth arrondissement.
The school is right next to one of the collapsed buildings. It has around 1,000 students.
Its director Michel Denis said, ‘Fortunately, it was the first day of the holidays and there weren’t many people on the premises. I was blown three meters across my office.’
