OrchestrasThis was Herbert von Karajan’s grave yesterday.
The parish authorities in Anif, near Salzburg, say it was under prolonged restoration and has been reopened to the public to mark the 115th anniversary of the conductor’s birth.
There had been many complaints after slippedisc published the state of the grave’s neglect during the restoration period.

Complaints about what? It was under restoration. If anything the complaints should have been about the author of this blog’s failure to investigate the case fully.
Very good to see. Knowing a fair number of Salzburgers who have worked with the Festspiele for years I found it hard to believe this had been allowed to happen at all.
