Moscow celebrates Sviatoslav Richter’s partner
RIPTwenty-five years after her death in May 1998, the Pushkin Museum has put on a commemorative exhibition for the soprano and voice teacher Nina Dorliak, life companion of the pianist Sviatoslav Richter.
Dorliak met Richter in 1943 and became his partner three years later. It was never clear if they married or not but they were devoted to each other and occasionally performed together. Dorliak outlived the compelling and uncontrollable Richter by no more than a few months.
“Beard” would be more accurate.
Oh, please! How typical of Russia, a country that still denies that Tchaikovsky was gay!
