Biz news: Singers desert a leading agency
OperaThe French lyric tenor Benjamin Bernheim has sent out a notice declaring, ‘I terminated my business relationship with Alan Green on February 28.’
Green is the owner of Zemsky/Green, a leading New York singers agency.
The agency has suffered other recent departures. They include Pretty Yende, Stanislas de Barbeyrac, Angel Blue, Olga Kulcynska, Eva Maria Westbroek, Jennifer Rowley and Clementine Margaine.
It might just be an attack of spring-cleaning.
But so long as Jonas Kaufmann stays loyal, as he does, there’s nothing much to worry about.

This is hardly unsurprising after Alan decided to replace his staff with his family members. It’s become impossible to work with his agency on anything. Kaufmann keeps cancelling due to health issues this season, so I don’t know how that agency isn’t flailing right now.
