I have heard of her, and I don’t follow new music. Nothing is proved either way. She did, however, win a Pulitzer Prize for music in 2021.

How is it an orchestra’s job to mentor composers? They are going to throw buckets of money at people whose artistic output will never pay back the investment. It sounds like a good way to go out of business.

Yes but those fellowships were endorsed by courts and royal families. These ones are being endorsed by private companies which are already financially unstable. If only the government were willing to invest in its arts, but alas…
