Juilliard String Quartet switches 1st violinist again
OrchestrasThe relatively new leader of the Juilliard, Areta Zhulla, is stepping aside for several months to have a baby.
She is being replaced from tonight by free agent Michelle Ross.
They say: New year, new… JSQ BABY!!! 👶 We are so thrilled to send Areta Zhulla, off on maternity leave this week and welcome Michelle Ross for the next few months of concerts with us! CONGRATULATIONS, Areta!! And welcome, Michelle!!
We’re expecting 2023 to be a big one for musical babies.
Two of the best violinists Juilliard has produced in recent memory, I’m sure Michelle will do a great job!
Jeez, that quartet just can’t get a break. Good luck to them.
Tough to have continuity when babies are in the mix.
