Featuring many familiar faces, the Scottish National Portrait Gallery had an exhibition this past autumn called The Modern Portrait. The exhibition pulled together portraits of recognisable Scottish faces from multiple different sectors; science, politics, the arts, business and sport.
This is an unusual and absorbing short video about one of those artists, Christian Hook, and his subject, the actor, Alan Cummings. Strangers before they embarked on their work together, they talk here about what they both wanted from this portrait and how they went about achieving it.
