London agency snaps two young sticks
NewsIntermusica has signed up two of the more promising young conductors.
Ben Glasberg-Frost, 28, is music director of Opera de Rouen Normandie and principal conductor of Glyndebourne on Tour.
Petr Popelka, 36, is chief of Norwegian Radio Orchestra and Prague Radio Symphony Orchestra.
Glasberg was previously at Keynote, Popelka at KünstlerSekretariat am Gasteig.
Literally just seen Ben Glassberg conduct Rigoletto at Rouen last month – the orchestra sounded better than I have ever heard them previously – full of color and a wall of sound but never overwhelming the singers. Bravo!
Why does he look so sceptic and grumpy? Shouldn’t he be happy having a new agency behind him?
