Bernard Cribbins very recently came out of retirement to film for the 60th anniversary of Doctor Who, through which he won over an entirely new generation of fans. He had plenty of fans already, of course, from his long career as one of the nation’s favourite actors and entertainers. RIP, Bernard – sorely missed, but fondly remembered.
