Chicago cops have recovered the precious Gagliano violin that was stolen a month ago from Ming Huan Xu’s home in South Loop while she and her family slept.

Details are still scarce.

She says: ‘My heartfelt gratitude for the Chicago Police Department for recovering our instruments. A special thank to Detective Peralta, for his amazing work and dedication that brought our instruments back home undamaged. We are so so happy, relieved and grateful! I also wanted to thank everyone for sending messages, prayers and positive vibes. We would not have done this without everyone’s amazing support, compassion and empathy. I could finally sleep better tonight.’

I hope that there are other Brooklyn 99 fans on here that picked up the Detective’s name!

Gotta keep that kevlar flak jacket on, just in case the violinist detonates her improvised explosive device.

I thought Detective Peralta worked at the Brooklyn Nine-Nine precinct.

She should have a burglar alarm fitted and make sure
It is put on at night

    • V.Lind says:

She, and every other holder of these multi-million dollar instruments, should have them in a safe. People wouldn’t or shouldn’t) leave jewels worth millions lying about. Their insurers wouldn’t wear it. Nor should they for instruments.

It is illegal not to keep guns locked up safely. If there are secure gun cabinets (for rifles, etc.), they should be big enough to take even cellos.

Happy endings are becoming ever more scarce in today’s world, so let’s treasure this one.

  • Kyle A Wiedmeyer says:

I guess she’s lucky that they didn’t have to tase her for it

  • Frank says:

I’d just like to emphasize how incredible it is that this all worked out. So happy for Ming and fam and many thanks to all authorities that helped to make a great ending.

  • Barry Guerrero says:

Finally, some really great news. There is some good in the world. And I hope many will take a moment to thank the Chicago police, and not just always point out their shortcomings. Awesome!

  • Elon Ma says:

Regardless of what happens in life, just keep voting your ideology! You don’t need to keep yourself, your family, or your possessions safe from criminals. Comrade Biden will buyback these perps guns, knifes, and ill will.

A properly placed Biden yard sign could have easily prevented all of this from happening.

If I was in Chicago I wouldn’t take off my Kevlar either.

Is this supposed to be funny, analytical, or just an expression of hate and Trumpism? Sadly, it succeeds only at the last and lowest level.

  • Wise Guy says:

Surprising that in Chicago, the police pursued a property crime. Their mayor doesn’t think theft matters. Its just redistribution of wealth to her.
