MTT ticks a box
NewsThe conductor Michael Tilson Thomas, battling brain cancer, has the opportunity this week to add another major orchestra to his lengthy portfolio.
MTT is conducting the Czech Philharmonic for the first time, and they seem delighted.
The programme is Schubert’s C major symphony and Copland’s Appalachian Spring.
That would have been cool to see. I wish he’d done the program he did in DC with the NSO lately, though (including Carl Ruggles’ “Angels.”).

Seeing and hearing MTTĀ“s first concert with the BRSO in 30 years last week was a relevation.Not just musically,but such a joy to see him back in such great shape,high spirits,enjoying every moment…May it continue for many,many years.
