Ludwig Van Toronto are first with the news that Tafelmusik, the eminent baroque orchestra, are headless once again.

Elisa Citterio, the La Scala violinist who took over as music director from Jeanne Lamon in 2017, has left without notice.

Neither side is saying a word.

A search party has been sent out…. sorry, call that an artistic search committee.

maybe she misses the italian weather and the good food.

  • Tim says:

It usually only takes one winter. She lasted five. Commendable..

    Hmmm…Toronto…or Milan…hmmm…

  • Chen says:

I have attended her performance with Tafelmusik. The piece of the day was Beethoven’s Violin Concerto in D. I can clearly tell she is not a good fit for this orchestra.

While AISSLINN NOSKY was in Toronto, I can clearly tell she wanted this role but didn’t get it. Now she is the Concertmaster of H+H in Boston.

What made you think she wasn’t a good fit?

    • BeethovenPrevin says:

Elisa brought a new sound and performance style to Tafelmusik but the ensemble were unfortunately unwilling to evolve, and remain stuck in a performance style from the 1980s.

Departed without notice, without comment from either side!?!?

    Sounds kinda, well, “personal”?
