A Kyiv artist cries out for our support
NewsAn appeal from Solomiia Starenkova of Kyiv Opera-Ballet:
I am (asking) on behalf of Ukrainian musicians and artists. Now we don’t sing, don’t conduct, don’t dance and don’t direct plays. We defend our country with weapons in hand, sit in basements without light, water and heat, evacuate children abroad. We are being killed, but we are not giving up. I ask you to show solidarity with us and refuse to cooperate with Russian artists who have not publicly condemned the murder of Ukrainians, the war and Putin. Support our country in the fight against the Russian occupiers.
So, not all musicians need to make statements – only Russian? Otherwise, they are declared Putinists?
