Men lead women 5-2 at next Queen Elisabeth
NewsContestants have been selected for this year’s cello competition – 68 for the first public round.
There are 20 women and 48 men.
Ten are from the US.
Not one UK applicant made it to the first round.

“Not one UK applicant made it to the first round” – Basically it doesn’t matter but in this case it is Belgian based competion, not from UK!
The name comes from Queen Elisabeth of Belgium (1876–1965) even that long time I tought that it comes from Elisabeth II (or I )
So…it’s a “battle of the sexes”…
Three cheers for the many young cellists (and their teachers) from Korea. This competition should change its name to Occupation Korea.
Or would it be the same for any instrument? Cheers, anyway…
