The composer Kenneth Wannberg, music editor on half of John Williams’ films over half a century, has died in Florence, Oregon, aged 91.

He retired after Spielberg’s ‘Munich’ in 2005.

His death precedes by a few days the global celebrations of Williams’s 90th birthday.

    Sad news.

Just four days before John Williams turns 90.

And on the day DG releases “The Berlin Concert”.

Well, luckily, the masterminds and technicians behind the sound of orchestral film music are already legend and surely “much smarter than their critics”, who are too vain and self-absorbed to revise their stiff academic attitudes.

Ken was an amazingly talented musician and a wonderful person. He was supportive to all, but suffered no fools; no matter how wealthy or influential they might be. It was a gift to have known him.
