Just in: San Fran snatch Tamara Rojo
NewsSan Francisco Ballet has just hired Tamara Rojo, 47, as its artistic director.
She is presently head of English National Ballet.
The Spanish ex-dancer will be SFB’s first female chief.

ABT is known for its athleticism, the Kirov for its precision….and SF Ballet for its management!
Rojo is an extremely capable director and I’m very excited to see what she will bring to the SF company. Helgi Tomasson has been inspirational but understandably after 37 years a replacement was inevitable.
