We hear that chief conductor Petr Popelka has turned down a contract renewal at Norwegian Radio to focus on his other orchestra in Prague.

A decade-long doublebass player at the Dresden Staatskapelle Popelka, 36, is not short on confdence.

      In Norway they are considered to be an ensemble of the highest order, with first class musicians, inventive and interesting programing, enjoyed by a large and loyal audience all over the country. I think they should be admired.
