Music director JoAnn Falletta has announced the death of Dmitry Gerickh, a player in her orchestra for 18 years.

It is with a very heavy heart that the Buffalo Philharmonic and I share the sad news of the unexpected passing of our beloved violinist Dmitry Gerikh on November 3. Dmitry was concertmaster of the Odessa Philharmonic, and after arriving in the USA in 1989, he became a principal player with the Syracuse Symphony. He joined the BPO in 1993, and will always be cherished in the hearts of all of us in the Buffalo Philharmonic.
