The much-deferred Isaac Stern Competition aims to hold its fonal round in Shanghai next year. None of the contestants has much form.

The finalists are:

Ruifeng Lin, China (21)
Felicitas Schiffner, Germany (24)
Angela Sin Ying Chan, Hong Kong, China (25)

    Agree on that. Very modest level for such prestigious competition! Probably only few applied since it was uncertain, if and when it would take place..?

    “None of the contestants has much form.” What in hades is that intended to mean? That they can’t hold the instrument or bow correctly? That they don’t look nice in concert attire? That they look awkward when bowing? That the concertmaster has to tune their instrument for them?
