At 5pm it’s England v Germany, or Tristan v Isolde
NewsAt the hour that Germany kick off against England at Wembley, Bavarian State Opera will raise the curtain on a new production of Tristan und Isolde, with Jonas Kaufmann and Anja Herteros, both singing the role for the first time.
Your call.
Could Tristan go to penalties?

Perhaps they will watch football together between the acts.
Does anyone here know if and when there will be a broadcast of this Tristan und Isolde?
The opera starts at 5 pm German time, so 4 pm London time. Kick off is 6 pm German time.
So first intermission is set to be between 6.15 and 6.55…so first half falls right into that…good planning by Bayerische Staatsoper!
Tough one. But the game is 2 hours, Tristan 5. So you can catch some of both.
Of course we know that Isolde won, although on questionable grounds.
Will we be seeing Zonal Mark or Man – to – Man?
What a crying shame there is not a live stream of it – I know I am out of step with the vast majority, but truth be told, I’m sick to death of hearing about bloody football and that’s before they have played the darn game. The post mortem[s] will go on for days! Trouble is if England were to win we are doomed to wall to wall coverage day after day after …………………….
You are not alone Wally!
I would also watch a stream, and to hell with football!
In case of a tie, 2 prolongations and 2 hours of penalty kicks, both could end at the same time !!
… That would not happen with a typical
baseball game paired with Tristan.
They would end at the same time, or
seconds apart.
July 31 the last performance of Tristan und Isolde will be free to watch.
After yesterday’s result, would not Gotterdammerung be more appropriate ? ( sorry, I can’t do umlaut )
Find a character map on your computer.
To open the Character Map utility:
Click on the Start (Windows Icon) menu in the lower left, then select All Programs. …
Select Programs » Accessories » System Tools » Character Map. …
A window should open which displays a series of characters in a grid as in the images below.
I have it in my taskbar. It’s a useful tool as my computer does not have a £ sign.
There are ways to do this with a keyboard, but it’s a lot less hassle to use the character map, and it includes everything from accents to non-arabic scripts to symbols, like that for degree and many other things, in a compact an deasy-to-use box.
Yes, if you are in Munich, but will it be streamed?
Judging by the reviews, the football game was the better option!
