NewsJust in: From 23 July until the end of August, Summer at Snape will feature a series of free outdoor performances – suitable for all ages – at The Dome Stage on the lawn at Snape Maltings, and in August, Snape Maltings Concert Hall will host daily concerts by outstanding artists and ensembles from the worlds of classical music, folk and jazz.
Artists include:
– Mobo nominated saxophonist Camilla George (23 July)
– Folk music pioneer Sam Amidon playing fiddle, banjo and guitar (24 July)
– Cellist Abel Selacoe and his trio Chesaba specialising in music from the African continent (25 July)
– Singer Elina Duni & guitarist and BBC Radio 3 New Generation Artist Rob Luft (28 July)
– Mercury nominated band Dinosaurled by trumpeter, composer and improviser Laura Jurd in a special
collaboration with Aldeburgh Young Musicians (29 July)
– Violinist Anna Phoebe and pianist/producer Aisling Brouwer use intricate interplay between violin and
piano to create ambient, cinematic soundscapes (30 July)
– Eastern European musics collide with Middle Eastern melodies and Turkish traditions combine with full-
throttle klezmer from The Turbans (31 July)
– Sitar player Jasdeep Singh Degun works outwards from Indian classical music to evolve new approaches
to the tradition (1 Aug)
– Multi-award-winning progressive brass band Perhaps Contraption collaborates with Aldeburgh Young
