One of those tracks that I missed when it came out, vivid and haunting.

The voice of Mayte Martin. Incredible.

I think this is the recording, not the recording photographed. https://www.labeque.com/releases/8/de-fuego-y-de-agua

Not sure I understand your headline, NL. “Alarming” meaning great or meaning awful? My dictionary says that “alarming” means ‘worrying or disturbing.’ Care to explain?

  • Greg Bottini says:

I love it, and I love the Labeque Sisters!!!

    Beautiful. A wonderful choice. Thanks.

Nothing here alarms me, though I prefer Spanish guitar to duo pianos and male singers with male or female dancers, castanets, all the trimmings, rojas redolent oles in the back and foreground, cigarillos, trigo y cinturas a la Lorca. Manitos de Plato, Sabicas, or Narciso Yepez suit me down to the ground. Canto hondo~

Speaking of which my good Bavarian three-quarters finally is happy against her will: she has today her very own Hurricane Hnna, at last, taking some of the strain off.
