Thank heavens….
La Scala is the beating heart of the Opera worldwide.
Wonderful concert by three superb artists – and Simone Piazzola, who performs excerpts from Don Carlo, Rigoletto and La Traviata, is sensational.
And how fitting it is to end the concert with the love theme from Cinema Paradiso, on Mischa Maisky’s soulful cello, as an encore and a tribute to the late, great Ennio Morricone.
Bravissimo!
