The City of Birmingham Symphony Orchestra has named Eugene Tzikindelean as its next concertmaster, from September.

Presently concertmaster in Odense, Denmark, he made his mark with the CBSO in their breakthrough Weinberg weekend with Gidon Kremer.

Good call.

  • Cynical Bystander says:

Shame there will be no Concerts for him to lead in September or as things stand at the moment September 2021. Better start looking for suitable Chamber works to play in an empty Symphony Hall.

    • double-stopper says:

perhaps he could mix Bach’s solo sonatas and partitas with a selection of solo sonatas / pieces by other composers and stream the lot, but have it done with decent sound quality…

    • Saxon Broken says:

Concerts will likely restart sometime in the Autumn.

  • Janet Taplin says:

Congratulation Eugene. We look forward to seeing/hearing you in the (near) future
