Tonight? You can watch it anytime, it’s in the Digital Concert Hall archive.
Yes, but tonight it’s free to everyone! One of the greatest 20th C symphonies in a terrific performance.
The Digital Concert Hall is free for 30 days for anyone who enters the code “BERLINPHIL” by March 31.
But tonight it is available to everyone everywhere – how about we appreciate that fact?
The Concertgebouw video service is better and it’s free!
The stream/video is not better and neither is the orchestra.
Question of tastes.
We are not making comparisons here but celebrating the fact that music, that should bring comfort and joy to us all is being presented. Give it a rest for a bit and let us just enjoy what these people are giving us universally.
Of course you are right but on youtube you already have a fantastic offer for free.
Good to know! Actually it seems there are no video available to look at

Been watching vids on the site and they are wonderful. Thanks for the tip!
Wow! Truly inspired programming by Petrenko juxtaposing two 20th-century C-Major masterworks that inhabit two (almost) completely different sound worlds.
And regarding the Schmidt – I fully concur with Cubs Fan that this is a marvelous performance. My only quibble is that the Berlin Phil strings do not have the sumptuousness ideally needed for this music (compared with the 1971 Vienna Phil account under Zubin Mehta, for example). However the gorgeous cello solo at the beginning of the Adagio (Ludwig Quandt on his beautiful Francesco Ruggieri instrument) is simply unforgettable.
Bravo!!
Love Schmidt! The 4th is an outstanding work!
