Where’s Anna Netrebko?
mainAfter ducking out of her Bayreuth Festival debut, the diva is with husband Yusiv Eyvazov to Baku in Azerbaijan, his home town.
They were seen changing planes in Istanbul.
Last night, the Arena di Verona announced: ‘Unfortunately, Yusif Eyvazov has to cancel the “Tosca” performances in Arena di Verona due to his health condition.’
Yusif, looking good, has just contracted to sing his first Don Carlo at Salzburg Easter Festival, Thielemann conducting.
What’s a contract, these days? And what’s a doctor’s note?
UPDATE: They are in Baku, she has messaged, for the 75th birthday of Yusif’s mother.
Good to see that Yusif has recovered so quickly from the causes of his Verona cancellation.
“What’s a contract, these days?”
Netrebko acts like a budget airline: overbook your flight/season, not honor some of the tickets/contracts at the gate/opening, give the disappointed passenger/house a voucher for next year, guarantee a full flight/season everytime.
There seems to be a segment of the opera going crowd who are too stupid to be aware that they
are being used and probably laughed at by second rate singers elevated to stardom. In this case they get what they deserve in being treated as fools
That Mr.Thielemann would even conduct an opera
featuring a third rate tenor is discouraging .
So very well said! Yusif Eyvazov is absolutely dreadful and would never get jobs like these if he wasn’t Mr. Netrebko. This is so wrong and, as you said, discouraging!
It’s possible they’re both worn out and need some rest? If that were the case you’d expect to see them doing social things with friends wouldn’t you? However irksome that might be.
Shouldn’t they – as professionals – not make their schedules so that they can find rest between their appointments?
Ever heard of the charm of money?… 😉
Well, at least the audience at Verona have been spared a bloody awful Cavaradossi.
You mean Manrico
You can’t see the health of The voice by looking at it the outward appearance
Shouln’t have booed our Valery.
Daddy’s very angry.
Mr. Netrebko needs to stop singing. He’s bloody awful…
Simply stop buying tickets!
I don’t buy tickets to see either Mr. or Ms. Netrebko… I’m just giving my opinion on his terrible singing
Then stop listening!
I also did stop listening long ago. As I said earlier, I’m giving my opinion on his nightmarish singing. Any other advice you want to provide?
What’s an opinion, these days?
I wish she would learn to sing.
So I get chastised for not making a rehearsal I had a seizure 2 hours before… and Netrebs just gets to pull this shit?
Not only do they insistently and sadly sing 97% only together (her loss in the end, “opera golden couple” they will never and can never be and there are far better tenors out there), but they are also cancelling together, Yusif having cancelled Verona now… what a mess!
With all do respect, he would sing in less important venues if it weren’t for her, as he is a C category singer… And with everybody accepting this nonsense, it tells a lot about the current very sad situation in the opera world… pretty much the same as Alagna and Kurzak, but definitely not with the same exposure…
Bravissimo!!! Absolutely spot on.
netrepotism
Off to the salt mines with them.
What’s a contract, these days? And what’s a doctor’s note?
Same as a subpoena issued to the AG of the United States! Very sad world we live in!
