Only 2 works in NY City Opera’s next season
mainBarely alive, City Opera has rolled out next year’s plans.
They consist of the US premiere of Juan Duran’s ‘O Arame’, coupled with Manuel de Falla’s ‘El Amor Brujo’
The other show is Pietro Mascagni’s ‘Isabeau’ in London’s Holland Park production.

Well, one could wish for more, but Isabeau is quite something. I wish I’d seen it at OHP.
It was worth seeing. Once.
Let us not pretend that this company has anything to do with what we all think of as New York City Opera beyond it’s moniker.
This is not correct. There are three complete operas in their upcoming season. The third one is Benjamin Britten’s “Gloriana” in a concert version starring soprano Anna Catarina Antonacci.
A single concert performance does not count as a production.
