Assistant principal clarinet is arrested in drugs bust
mainJared Lee Davis, #2 clarinet at the Richmond Symphony Orchestra, has been arrested and charged with possession with intent to sell schedule I or II drugs, possession of schedule III drugs, and distribution of schedule I or II drugs.
The orchestra say: ‘We’re aware of the situation and are following the events as they proceed.’
Davis previously played in the Detroit Symphony Orchestra, Virginia Opera, North Carolina Symphony and others.
Wow. I don’t really associate such musical talent with drug dealing. I can’t imagine there are many drug dealers who also play in an orchestra.
Shades of Eugene Fodor …
Let’s not forget the St. Paul Chamber Orchestra cellist who was pulled over for speeding, and the police found over 100 pounds of marijuana in his trunk. Reported right here on Slippedisc, as I recall.

I will have you know that drug dealers come in all shapes and sizes. They can be well-educated scientists, accomplished theatre directors, ingenious entrepreneurs, generous philanthropists, dedicated teachers, and loving mothers and fathers. They are often pillars in their communities. Just because they differ from you or I does not mean they do not deserve human dignity! In fact, if you actually take time out to speak to them, you would find that they are just like the rest of us – wanting nothing less out of life than to love and to be loved.
…also to make some money. Demand for opiates is high right now.
He was watching too many Breaking Bad reruns.
Now he has to learn the fingerings to “Sing a Song of Sing Sing”
Exactly why was it important to post this?
Because there is a job opening at the Richmond symphony!
…tbh that’s all that came to me – shame I’m a Brit really!
Someone should write a sequel to Mozart in the Jungle…
Man is innocent until proven guilty. I have falsely been accused of stealing narcotics. There may be more to the story
In case you are curious about drug “schedules”…

Schedule I is the most illegal but includes marijuana
If he is exonerated will we see a post about that?
I certainly hope so!
