Didn’t make me think of England or Sweden but of Louis de Funès and Les Aventures de Rabbi Jacob.
Indeed! I love the scene where he arrives in the Jewish Community. It’s always hilarious even if I watched it many times (but the subject of this film is actually serious…?).
+1
The film is of course mostly a comedy, but I would agree that the way it uses irony/sarcasm/situational comedy to mock commonly held racist/anti-semitic views and also the way it calls attention to some of the political inadequacies of the time give it a definite serious undercurrent.
Funny. They could be Swedes as well as English supporters.
