The soprano has let it be known she has sung her last Lucia.

Munich has replaced her next season in Donizetti’s opera by Pretty Yende (she’ll have to learn how to handle a Chevy).

      The latter — and she was laughably mannered at the premiere to make things worse. Totally inept director and a stylistically clueless conductor (Kirill P) as well.

        She is always mannered and is always the same, playing a neurotic hysterical girl
        jerking her hands. Same in Rigoletto, La fille de regimen, Pearl fishers , etc.
        She used to have a lovely coloratura, but the quality of the singing has been declining. She did dare to speak out against Regie in one interview, calling it “just noise”, so I give her some credit.
        Too bad, another travesty of a production will pass off as Lucia di Lammermoor for some.
        ?Did she drive in a Chevy to the fountain in act 1?
