I will be interested to see what becomes of the KWSO. Under Raffi Armenian, by the 1980s it had reached consistently high standards of playing: check out their recordings of the Brahms serenades and the Mahler song cycles with Catherine Robbin (an exceptional reading). I’m aware that under Edwin Outwater they pursued some adventuresome programming, but I never heard them then. I wish them well since the area needs a good local orchestra.
